For partners

Sell Talkgate to your clients.

Add a voice line of business without building one. Talkgate is the product: a voice agent platform for the phone, text, Microsoft Teams, website chat and email. You sell it, set the price, onboard the client and support them. Talkgate runs the platform, the numbers and the hosting.

Why partners sell it

A line of business your clients are already asking for

A voice line of business without building one. The agents, the integrations, the telephony and the hosting are done. You bring the clients and the relationship, and you are selling a working product the week you sign up.

Recurring, and noticed every day. A voice agent answers the client's phone every working day and every night. It is the service on your invoice they hear working, which is a different conversation at renewal from a backup that never ran.

Clients already ask. Missed calls after hours, a receptionist on leave, quotes going quiet, an inbox nobody answers. Your clients bring these to you now, because you are the one who looks after their phones and their IT. Talkgate is the answer you can sell them.

Talkgate runs the platform, the numbers and the hosting. You, the partner, sell, onboard, price and support. Your clients deal with you. What you do and what we do

Two short lists, and no gaps between them

What you do

  • Sell Talkgate to your clients, at a price you set, on your own invoice.
  • Onboard each client through the builder: template, connection, knowledge, number, deploy.
  • Walk the client through the divert on their own carrier, or arrange the port.
  • Give first-line support to your own clients, and the tuning after go-live.
  • Own the relationship. Your clients ring you.

What Talkgate does

  • Runs the platform: the agents, the builder, the integrations and the API.
  • Provides the phone numbers and the voice capacity. You need no account with any supplier.
  • Hosts everything in New Zealand and Australian data centres, and nowhere else.
  • Gives your team a partner sign-in, a dashboard across all your clients, training and help documents.
  • Takes your escalations on a direct channel when something is beyond first line.

How onboarding a client works

From a template to a live number, in a day

The builder's first-run flow asks for what it does not already know and nothing else. Same-day go-live is normal, there is nothing to install, and changes afterwards are unlimited.

  1. 1. Pick the template. A new client's first board opens with the builder's copilot asking which system the business runs, for example Fergus, GymMaster or Workshop Software, or none. It builds the matching agent from a template while you watch. Templates live under Templates in the builder.
  2. 2. Connect the system. The copilot takes the connection keys and tests them there and then, so you know the lookup and the write-back work before a caller does.
  3. 3. Answer four questions. Where the call summaries should be emailed, which mobile gets the urgent texts, which number takes an urgent transfer, and the client's website address.
  4. 4. Give it the knowledge. The website is read whole at deploy and re-read on a schedule afterwards, so a change on the client's site changes what the agent says. Notes and documents (PDF, Word, plain text) are indexed in a minute or two.
  5. 5. Choose the number. Every agent comes with its own local number in the region the client asks for, in New Zealand or Australia. Or the client keeps the number it advertises and diverts it to the agent: forward all, when unanswered, when busy, or when off. That divert is the one step the client does on its own phone, it takes a couple of minutes, and the dial codes for the main carriers and handsets are documented for your team.
  6. 6. Deploy. The copilot says what is left before Deploy. Usually it is the number. Press it, ring it, and the client is answering.

A number can also be ported in from another provider, and ported back out if the client ever leaves. The ported number sits in an account of the client's own, so nobody is held by their number.

Your partner dashboard

Every client, agent and call in one sign-in

Your team signs in once and sees across all of your clients. Each client signs in and sees only its own.

Clients

Every client organisation, its agents, its numbers and its people, with the whole history of calls and texts for each caller beside the record.

Agents and the builder

The canvas builder with templates, knowledge base, hours, transfers and integrations on one board. The copilot does the first run; your team does the tuning.

Calls

Every call logged with what happened, a summary texted and emailed within seconds, and recordings and transcripts off by default until a client switches them on.

Usage

The month at a glance: clients, live agents, calls and minutes, then a per-client table so you can see who is using what and reconcile your own invoices against it.

Users and roles

Your team as partner users, then a company owner and company staff for each client, with staff narrowed to the agents they are allowed to see. A client can let one of your named people into its account by ticking a box, and remove them under Team without asking anyone.

Pricing

You set the price

There are no prices on this site, so that each partner can price Talkgate for its own clients. You set your retail and your terms, and your clients pay you. The partner terms between you and Talkgate are worked through in the briefing, with a client of yours in mind.

The same applies on both sides of the Tasman. An Australian client gets an Australian local number and voice, and its calls are handled in the same New Zealand and Australian data centres.

Support and escalation

Your clients reach you. You reach us

What you handle

  • First-line support to your own clients.
  • Client onboarding through the builder, and the tuning afterwards.
  • Walking a client through the divert on its own carrier. A divert not set is the commonest support problem there is, and the platform cannot fix a call that never reaches it.
  • Your pricing, your invoices and your terms with the client.

What Talkgate handles

  • Voice capacity and phone numbers. You need no account with any supplier.
  • A second-line escalation channel for your team, training, and help documents you can hand to clients.
  • The platform itself: the agents, the integrations, the builder, the API and the data centres in New Zealand and Australia.
  • Porting a client's number in, and back out if they ever leave.

Questions partners ask

The ones that come up in every briefing

  • Do my clients see the Talkgate name? Yes. Talkgate is the product, and you are the partner who sells, sets up and supports it. The agent answers the phone as the client's own business, with the client's own greeting, so callers hear the business they rang.
  • Where are the calls handled? In New Zealand and Australian data centres, and nowhere else. That covers the call, the transcription and any recording. Calls are not split by the country they came from, so do not promise a caller their data stays on one side of the Tasman. Each country's privacy law recognises the other as providing comparable protection, which is what makes running across the two lawful.
  • Who sets the price and who bills the client? You do, both. There are no prices on this site. Your retail and your terms with the client are yours; the partner terms with Talkgate are covered in the briefing.
  • Who do my clients call when something goes wrong? You, as they do now. You have a second-line escalation channel to Talkgate, training for your team, and help documents to hand to clients.
  • Can a client keep the number they advertise? Yes. They divert it to the agent on their own carrier in a couple of minutes, or port it in. A ported number sits in an account of the client's own, so if they ever leave, it leaves with them. An existing trunk, PBX or DDI range can be connected with you during onboarding.
  • Does this work for Australian clients? Yes. Australian local numbers, Australian voices, trading hours and public holidays on the clock of the number, and calls handled in the same New Zealand and Australian data centres.
  • Can I run it on my own desk first? That is where most partners start. The Autotask PSA and Freshservice connections read a caller's open tickets before hello and write the call back onto the ticket. They are in early access, and the briefing shows them on a live desk.
  • What do I need for each client? Their website and any notes or documents the agent should answer from, their software and its connection keys if it is one the platform connects to, a number, and an email for summaries, a mobile for urgent texts and a number for urgent transfers.

Next step

Bring a client in mind

The partner briefing is a working session, not a slide deck. You see the agent answer a live call, the builder onboarding a client, and the partner dashboard, and we go through the partner terms with a client of yours in mind. It is the only place prices are discussed.
